Darley Churchtown Church of England Primary School is situated less than a hundred metres from St. Helen’s Church. The PCC has representatives on the Board of Governors and our congregation at St. Helen’s is supportive of the school whenever the opportunity arises. Our Rector has taken morning assembly on a regular basis and members of the congregation visit to hear children read. Those at St. Helen’s have enjoyed social events with the children and their parents as well as special services in church.
South Darley School has very strong links with its local church, St Mary’s. A family service is held in church every 3rd Tuesday of the month. Parents and family are welcome to attend; tea and biscuits are provided by the church. The school also holds its celebration assembly on the 1st Friday of the month, as well as services for Harvest, new starters, leavers, Easter and a Christmas Nativity.
Our United Benefice is within the Diocese of Derby, headed by Rt Revd Libby Lane, Bishop of Derby.
